Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance as it teaches poise, body strength and control, and discipline.

Did you know? Ballet is strongly encouraged for dancers who take 2 or more dance styles as ballet skills lead to exceptional dancers in other dance styles too.

The following is only a guideline; students are assessed by the instructor and assigned to appropriate levels for each individual.

Primary (6 & 7 yrs)  
45-minute class per week
Combined technique and choreography class.

Ballet 2/3
1-hour class per week
Combined technique and choreography class.

Ballet 4/5
Two classes per week: Co-requisite 1.25 -hour technique class + 1.25 hour technique class.
Dancers must attend technique class along with choreography class for performance. Placed with teacher recommendation.

Ballet 6 & up
Two classes per week: Co-requisite 1.5-hour technique class + 1.5 -hour choreography and variations class. Dancers must attend technique class along with choreography class for performance.

Pointe Technique
By recommendation only.

Teen Ballet Class
We welcome dancers with limited ballet experience. In this class we will be learning the basics and working on clean, strong technique.

Did you know? This is an excellent class for dancers with experience in other dance genres who wish to become stronger in their style, such as jazz or hip hop dancers.
